Technical Recruiter

Hampton North

United States

Description

Hampton North is a specialist recruiting firm focused on cybersecurity. We run retained and engaged searches for some of the most important companies in the industry, from high-growth startups through to publicly traded enterprises. Our clients trust us with their most critical hires, and we take that seriously.

The Role

This is an entry point into one of the highest performing specialist recruiting firms in the US, working directly under our head of delivery on security engineering, infrastructure, and software engineering searches. You'll start by supporting active search engagements across application security, cloud security, detection engineering, infrastructure, and software development; sourcing, screening, coordinating, and learning what a quality technical search process looks like from the inside. Over time, you'll be coached into owning your own client relationships and running technical searches end to end

This role is built for someone who is early in their career, hungry to learn, and wants to build a long-term career in technical recruiting within a team that genuinely invests in its people. If you've spent a year in recruiting or in a technical-adjacent role and want to be around people who are operating at a high level in the security and engineering space, this is the seat.

What you'll do starting out

  • Source and identify candidates for active security and engineering searches' AppSec engineers, detection engineers, cloud security architects, infrastructure engineers, software developers, and similar technical profiles
  • Learn to read and understand technical resumés, distinguishing between hands-on engineers and governance-focused candidates
  • Manage candidate pipelines, keep the CRM clean, and make sure nothing falls through the cracks
  • Coordinate interviews and logistics between candidates and clients
  • Research target companies, map engineering and security org charts, and build longlists for new search engagements
  • Draft technical outreach messaging and help refine how we position opportunities to senior engineers and security leaders
  • Sit in on client calls and candidate debriefs to learn how technical searches are run at a high level
  • Build foundational knowledge of the cybersecurity and engineering landscape; tooling, frameworks, common tech stacks, and how security orgs are structured

What you'll grow into

  • Running your own candidate relationships end to end; from first outreach through offer and close
  • Owning client intake calls and managing client communication on active technical searches
  • Developing your own network and market expertise in security and engineering hiring
  • Confidently discussing technical concepts with candidates and clients; you won't need to write code, but you'll need to understand what good engineers do and what separates them
  • Eventually building and managing your own desk with full client ownership

What we're looking for

  • Roughly 1-3 years of experience in recruiting (agency or in-house)
  • Strong written and verbal communication, you'll be reaching out to Staff Engineers, security architects, and engineering leaders, so you need to sound like someone worth talking
  • Highly organized with good attention to detail; search work lives and dies on follow-through
  • Curious, coachable, and not precious about doing the unglamorous work early on
  • Comfortable working in a small, fast-paced team where you're expected to figure things out

What we offer

  • Competitive base salary with a commission structure that rewards performance without punishing you for learning
  • 100% company-paid healthcare for you and your family
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Access to best-in-class recruiting tools and technology
  • High T&E budget — when you're ready to take candidates and clients to dinner, we want you to
  • L&D budget and hands-on coaching from the wider Hampton North team
  • Company offsites (recent locations include London, Dubai, New York, Las Vegas, Boston, Austin)
  • A real path to running your own desk; this isn't a support role with a ceiling, it's a career launchpad
