Description

Chief Financial Officer | Property & Casualty Insurance | Florida

Oliver James is delighted to be partnering with a leading Property & Casualty insurance carrier in the appointment of a Chief Financial Officer. This opportunity has arisen due to the planned retirement of the current incumbent following a highly successful tenure, allowing for a comprehensive handover and transition period.

This is a rare opportunity to join the executive leadership team of a well-established and highly respected insurance organization at an exciting stage of its continued growth and development. The role offers significant strategic influence across the business, alongside a highly competitive compensation package. Whilst dependent on experience, anticipated total compensation, including base salary, bonus and long-term incentives, is expected to exceed $500,000.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the CFO will serve as a key strategic partner to the leadership team, providing financial direction, driving performance, overseeing capital and reinsurance strategy, and supporting the long-term growth objectives of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all finance and accounting operations, including statutory and GAAP reporting
  • Own the financial planning, forecasting, budgeting and capital management processes
  • Provide oversight of reinsurance strategy, renewals and financial performance
  • Manage relationships with regulators, auditors, rating agencies and other key external stakeholders
  • Deliver strategic financial insight and decision support to the executive leadership team
  • Drive operational efficiencies, process improvements and scalable growth initiatives
  • Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing finance and accounting function

Required Experience

  • 15+ years of progressive finance leadership experience within the Property & Casualty insurance sector
  • Prior executive leadership experience within an insurance carrier environment
  • Deep expertise in statutory accounting, regulatory reporting and insurance finance operations
  • Strong reinsurance, capital management and enterprise planning experience
  • CPA qualification preferred
  • Proven ability to influence business strategy and operate as a trusted advisor to senior leadership
  • Experience supporting organizational growth, transformation and operational scale

This opportunity would suit an accomplished insurance finance executive seeking a genuine strategic CFO role with broad executive exposure and the ability to make a lasting impact on a successful and growing organization.
