Pool Instructor (Part-Time)
Parks & Recreation Department – Aquatics Division
City of St. Cloud
The City of St. Cloud is seeking high-energy, charismatic individuals with a passion for teaching to serve as Pool Instructors. In this role, you will lead swim lessons and aquatic programs, helping participants of all ages build confidence, develop skills, and stay safe in and around the water.
Schedule
Varies – includes weekdays, weekends, mornings, evenings, and select holidays
(Aquatics Division operates 7 days a week)

Duties and Responsibilities
The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this position. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the position as necessary.
Minimum Education And Experience Requirements
Must be at least 17 years of age.
Current certification as a Water Safety Instructor, Basic Water Safety Instructor, or Water Aerobics Instructor or the ability to obtain within 6 months of employment is required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Must be able to pass physical interview prior to employment, as defined below:
25 yard swim freestyle, demonstrating streamline and rotary breathing.
25 yard swim breast stoke
1 minute water tread with use of hands
Surface dive feet first to retrieve 10lb brick from 12.5ft pool depth
The Following Skill Demonstrations Are Preferred But Not Required
25 yard swim backstroke
25 yard swim butterfly

Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization. Ability to conduct oneself in professional manner.
Reasoning
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instruction furnished in writing, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
