Our corporate research center is based in Belgium, next to that we run 5 other R&D satellites worldwide.

Currently we are looking for a Product Development Engineer in Lummen (Belgium):

The product development engineer is part of the AfterMarket (AM) towbar development team that develops towbars for a wide range of vehicles. The work starts from developing the towbar based on a vehicle scan. The towbar design is made using a number of design guidelines. The development includes the CAD design, testing, homologation, production drawings release and an installation manual.

Responsibilities:

• Develop AM towbars with support of the relevant technical experts.
• Analyze, plan, organize and monitor the product development process in order to achieve the milestones and the deliverables.
• Take responsibility and leadership for the problem solving with regard to the product definition. You facilitate consensus and trade-offs in reaching the project goals.
• You are responsible for the technical communication. Within this responsibility you support Sales with technical presentations.
• Monitor the availability ‘in time and in full’ of the required documentation in line with the existing procedures for the Product Creation Process
• Take responsibility for the maintenance of the product configuration of your products until EOL of the product.

Your profile:

Skills & Experience:

• Master degree in (Mechanical) Engineering or equivalent through on the job experience.
• Experience in automotive is a plus.
• Experience with innovation on new products (preferably mechanical products).
• You are independent, enthusiastic and proactive. You are also flexible and willing to travel to our factory in the Czech Republic once or twice a year.
• Perfect Dutch and English language skills.
