The purpose of this position is to assist with planning, co-ordinating and implementing a balanced promotional program for all SPAR North Rand formats as well as generating sales at both Retail and the Distribution Centre.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

•Lead and Manage the Promotions team.

•Interact and communicate with internal departments, Central office, Suppliers and SPAR North Rand members

•Undertake Adspend negotiations with suppliers for product income and achieve regional budget in this regard.

•Coordinate additional Regional Promotional Activity including store specific promotions

•Load and manage North Rand Regional Flex.

•Present monthly Promotional programmes to/with Buyers and Purchasing Managers and Retail Operations.

•Plan strong and balanced promotions for all SPAR North Rand stores.

•Co-ordinate TOPS promotions for SPAR North Rand stores.

•Manage monthly Guild subsidy report and expenditure.

•Manage the Promotions critical path, DC GP% parameters.

•Ensure that the Promotional Schedules are posted timeously and correctly.

•Load and manage North Rand Regional Text Me.

•Manage North Rand Guild Promotions and processes for SA

•Oversee all operations for Guild processes are executed

•Promotional month reporting

•Plan and execute effective Marketing committee meetings

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE

•Matric

•Marketing Diploma/Degree, or relevant Tertiary qualification

•2 years buying (Required) and/or promotional experience in the FMCG market.

•Sound product knowledge across all categories and markets

•Negotiation

•Excellent attention to detail and interpersonal skills

•Computer literacy: MS-office, AS400 & Integrator experience advantageous

•High energy and track record of meeting tight deadlines

•Strong analytical and project management skills.

•Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.

•Exceptional time management skills and the ability to complete tasks with speed and diligence.

•Ability to multitask.

•Strong ability to create and conceptualize content both written and visual.
