With unusually strong commercial traction across some of the world's biggest airports, ports and government organisations we have innovation partners to develop our technology to scale and we're looking for a Medior/Senior RF & Wireless Sensing Scientist to lead Waving's data pipeline. About the role we're looking for
We're looking for a full-time Medior/Senior RF & Wireless Sensing Scientist in Amsterdam to own our sensing and detection end-to-end, working at the intersection of RF/signal processing and applied machine learning to protect critical infrastructure in real-world settings. It's a pivotal role, working side-by-side with our CTO, Senior Backend Engineer, and Senior Product Manager to turn our PoCs into Waving's scalable product. The ideal candidate is independent, fast-learning, meticulous, and takes ownership end-to-end, from research and feature engineering to model development, evaluation, and field iteration.
What your week could look like
- Translating wireless/RF sensing research and radio frequency (RF) theory into live processing environments
- Deciding which signal-derived features and data are the right inputs for detection models, and engineer them from raw RF data
- Building, training, evaluating and improving ML models for detection and classification
- Working closely with engineering to deploy models and iterate based on field performance
- Analyzing and cleaning large-scale sensing datasets and creating repeatable pipelines
- Building lightweight tooling to visualize data, debug edge cases and accelerate iteration

Who we're looking for
- At least a master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a similar field
- Proven experience with signal processing, RF signals, or wireless communication
- Proven experience training, evaluating, and running ML models, including selecting and engineering the right features/data inputs (ideally from signal or sensor data)
- 3+ years professional experience with Python
- Nice to haves: PhD in Electrical Engineering / Physics / a related field, knowledge of embedded systems and/or antenna design, experience working with cloud environments
