Your Mission

We are looking for an exceptional Head of AI to drive the execution of AI across our global organization. This is not a strategy-only position – it is a hands-on leadership role focused on building, deploying, and scaling AI solutions that deliver measurable business impact.

You will operate at the intersection of technology, operations, and commercial value, ensuring AI is fully embedded into day-to-day processes across manufacturing sites and business functions.

Your Tasks:

  • Execution & Delivery: Drive the end-to-end AI implementation roadmap by prioritizing high-impact use cases, delivering first results within 90 days, managing a KPI-driven pipeline, and discontinuing non-scalable pilots while scaling successful solutions.
  • Manufacturing & Operations: Implement AI solutions on the shopfloor including predictive maintenance, quality inspection, production optimization, supply chain forecasting, and energy efficiency in close collaboration with plant managers and frontline teams.
  • Commercial & Business Processes: Deploy AI across sales, engineering, project management, procurement, service, and finance by enabling use cases such as lead scoring, proposal automation, document intelligence, risk prediction, forecasting, and reporting automation with strong focus on actual usage.
  • Build & Scale Solutions: Own the full AI technology stack, ensuring robust data pipelines, seamless integration into ERP/MES/CRM systems, scalable deployment across sites, and sustainable production-ready solutions supported by smart build-vs-buy decisions.
  • AI Nova Team Leadership: Lead and connect distributed AI Nova teams across all manufacturing sites through hands-on coaching, clear prioritization, and consistent standards, ensuring aligned delivery and strong local impact.
  • Adoption & Capability Building: Increase AI adoption by building practical capabilities, training stakeholders, establishing AI champions, and driving behavioral change through strong on-site presence and engagement.

Requirements:

  • Technical Expertise: You possess strong hands-on AI and data capabilities and are able to independently build, evaluate, and deploy solutions across machine learning, computer vision, NLP, and forecasting, including full-stack understanding from data pipelines to system integration.
  • Industrial & System Knowledge: You have deep understanding of manufacturing and commercial environments, including experience with ERP/MES systems (e.g., SAP), CRM platforms, and applying AI to both structured and unstructured data such as documents, emails, and service tickets.
  • Implementation & Delivery Skills: You are execution-driven and experienced in delivering scalable AI use cases in operational environments, making pragmatic decisions, integrating solutions into workflows, and ensuring long-term maintainability.
  • Leadership & Change Capability: You lead through influence and action, drive adoption in complex multi-site organizations, coach embedded teams, and overcome resistance with credibility across shopfloor, business functions, and executive level.
  • Mindset & Personality: You are highly resilient, action-oriented, and pragmatic, with a strong bias for results, the ability to cut through complexity, and the drive to deliver impact even in imperfect organizational conditions.
  • Languages: You are fluent in English; German skills are a strong advantage.

We offer:

  • Growth with Purpose: Join a globally growing energy company with a vision and a bright future in the energy transition
  • Strong Teams, Big Energy: Work in highly professional, international teams defined by respect, appreciation, and a shared drive to shape the future of energy
  • Fair Rewards: Competitive pay, monthly vouchers for shopping, well‑being, or personal development, plus subsidized lunch and membership in a corporate benefits program
  • Personal & Professional Development: Learn and grow in an international environment with hands‑on experience and continuous development opportunities
  • Modern Working Environment: A modern way of working, 30 days’ vacation, and a tariff agreement combined with contemporary offices, height‑adjustable desks, free fruit & coffee, and regular team events
