JOB PURPOSE
Lead and oversee the maintenance planning function to ensure all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities are effectively planned, resourced, and executed in compliance with
regulatory requirements, company policies, and operational targets. The role ensures aircraft (or
assets) availability, safety, and cost efficiency and ensures effective planning, scheduling, and control of aircraft maintenance activities in compliance with regulatory requirements, ensuring continuous airworthiness, operational reliability, and optimal aircraft availability• Develop and manage daily and weekly maintenance plans for the active fleet.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Monitor due/overdue maintenance tasks, including:
• Flight hours (FH), flight cycles (FC), and calendar-controlled items
• ADs (Airworthiness Directives), SBs (Service Bulletins), and MEL/CDL items.
• Ensure timely accomplishment of tasks before due limits.
• Adjust plans dynamically based on operational changes (delays, aircraft swaps, AOGs).
• Review and finalize short-term work packages for line and light maintenance inputs.
• Ensure Task cards and maintenance data are accurate and current.
• Coordinate with engineering for clarifications or technical support.
• Lead and supervise light-maintenance and short-term planners.
• Assign daily planning activities and priorities.
• Monitor team output quality and adherence to deadlines.
• Provide coaching, on-the-job training, and performance feedback.
• Act as the primary interface between CAMO, Maintenance Control Centre (MCC), Line/Base Maintenance Operations/Flight Dispatch.
• Participate in daily operational meetings.
• Ensure alignment between maintenance plans and flight schedules.
• Ensure all planning activities are carried out in accordance with the AMP and compliance with
Oman CAA regulatory requirements.
• Maintain full traceability and proper documentation of planned tasks.
• Provide support for the yearly budget preparation for the department.
• Support audits and ensure timely closure of findings and implement investigation recommendations.
• Ensure that the training requirements for the staff are fulfilled as per the CAME/Oman CAA Regulatory requirements.
• Provide support during aircraft lease return/Lease-in/Lease-out/special projects.
• Coordinate with supply chain and maintenance to confirm material availability.
• Ensure no maintenance task is scheduled without required parts/tools.
• Optimize manpower utilization in coordination with maintenance teams.
• Identify inefficiencies in short-term planning processes.
• Propose revisions to company documentation such as CAME, EPMs and related manuals whenever necessary.
• Recommend and implement improvements to:
• Reduce delays and AOG events.
• Improve schedule adherence.
• Support reliability and maintenance program feedback loops.
• Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• On-time completion of short-term planned tasks.
• Number of AOG events due to planning issues.
• Schedule adherence (daily/weekly plan vs actual).
• Defect clearance turnaround time.
• Work package accuracy.
• Audit compliance and findings closure.
• Carry out any other planning – CAMO related task as and when directed by Manager Maintenance Planning or VP-CAMO.
• Perform any other related tasks as assigned by the Management.
• Be available / ready to support operation if required after working hours and during the
weekends.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, or equivalent) with 6 years of relevant experience preferably in aviation Engineering, Maintenance and Maintenance Planning.
OR
• Diploma holder in aerospace, mechanical Engineering (or similar field) or ICAO Type II licence with 8 years of relevant Experience.
PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE, CERTIFICATION OR MEMBERSHIPs
• Aircraft maintenance planning concepts
• Airworthiness regulations (EASA / Oman CAA)
• Knowledge of regulatory and manufacturers documentations.
• Experience in CAMO environment preferred
