Company Overview

Our client is a well-established insurance brokerage platform undergoing significant growth following a recent private equity investment. The business has a long-standing reputation in the insurance market and is entering an exciting phase of expansion through both organic growth and strategic acquisitions.

Current revenue is approximately $20M, with a target of reaching $50M by the end of 2026 and a longer-term goal of scaling to $150M within five years. As the business grows, significant investment is being made in infrastructure, systems, and talent to build a scalable, integrated finance function.

Position Overview

This is a highly visible finance leadership role with significant exposure to executive leadership and private equity stakeholders. Reporting into senior finance leadership, the Director of Accounting & Finance will play a critical role in supporting the business through rapid growth, operational scaling, and acquisition integration.

This role combines hands-on operational finance leadership with strategic oversight. The successful candidate will be deeply involved in day-to-day finance operations while also helping shape the long-term financial infrastructure of the business.

This position is ideal for a strong Controller or finance leader ready to step into a broader, more strategic leadership role.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all core accounting and finance operations, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
• Drive FP&A activities to support business performance, strategic decision-making, and leadership reporting
• Partner with executive leadership to provide financial insights and operational recommendations
• Build scalable financial processes, reporting infrastructure, and controls to support rapid growth
• Support acquisition onboarding, integration, and financial consolidation efforts
• Lead process improvement initiatives across finance and accounting operations
• Oversee financial systems, reporting tools, and data integrity across the organization
• Manage and develop the finance team as the business continues to expand
• Partner with corporate leadership and private equity stakeholders on strategic initiatives

Candidate Profile

Ideal Background

• Currently operating at Controller, Director of Accounting, or Director of Finance level
• Experience working in a Insurance carrier or broker
• Strong accounting and finance leadership experience within an insurance brokerage or related environment strongly preferred
• Experience working in high-growth, acquisitive, or private equity-backed businesses
• Strong background in FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, and operational finance
• Experience supporting acquisitions, integration's, and business scaling initiatives
• Experience with agency management systems highly desirable
