Patriot Engineering is a growing, veteran-owned civil engineering firm headquartered in Naples, Florida, with a statewide footprint. We are seeking a highly skilled and collaborative Civil CAD Designer to join our team. We pride ourselves on cultivating a workplace that feels like home, driven by our core values of Growth, Responsiveness, Integrity, and Teamwork (GRIT).

In this role, you will take full ownership of CAD production for your assigned projects. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the tools, standards, and technical foundation that will carry Patriot Engineering into the future. Because our goal is to fully integrate and maximize software capabilities across all operations, expert-level proficiency in Civil 3D is highly desired.
What You'll Do

- Project Delivery: Take full responsibility for drafting deliverables on assigned projects, ranging from focused residential sites and stormwater systems to large-scale commercial, industrial, and residential developments.
- Production Excellence: Prepare complete, high-quality civil engineering plan sets for land development, infrastructure, and site improvement projects.
- Collaborative Design: Partner closely with team members to conceptualize designs, establish realistic timelines, and execute final deliverables.
- Quality Control: Implement rigorous QA/QC habits to ensure consistency, technical accuracy, and strict compliance across all project deliverables.
- Mentorship: Continuously advance your own Civil 3D capabilities while actively helping to train and develop the technical skills of the broader team.
What We're Looking For
- Experience: 8+ years of experience in civil engineering design for land development (including comprehensive stormwater and utility design) is strongly desired. Note: We are willing to train the right culturally aligned candidate with less experience and certifications.
- Regional Knowledge: A strong background with Florida design standards, regulatory agencies, and permitting processes is highly preferred.
- Software Expertise: Expert-level proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, including advanced surface modeling, pipe networks, and precise CAD file organization.
- Autonomy: Demonstrated ability to independently advance a civil plan set to 75% or greater completion from redlines or high-level direction.
- Mindset: A dedicated, team-first professional with an excellent attitude who thrives in a collaborative environment.
- Technical Bonuses: Experience with Autodesk Docs (BIM 360), InfraWorks, Stormwise (ICPR4), project management software like Monday.com, or CAD automation/scripting tools is a strong plus.
Schedule & Commitment
- Position Type: Dedicated, full-time role.
- Hours: Minimum of 40 hours per week, featuring flexible scheduling options.
- Commitment: We are looking for professionals who are fully invested in our team's long-term mission. Independent freelancers or individuals seeking concurrent side work will not be considered.
