PE-Backed CFO - Multi-Brand, Multi-Site Restaurant Platform

Finatal has been exclusively retained by a private-equity sponsor to appoint a Chief Financial Officer for a newly formed, PE-backed hospitality platform.

This is a true ground-floor CFO opportunity. The business is launching with an initial platform acquisition underway and a clearly defined buy-and-build strategy to deploy ~$150M of capital over the next five years, with a target of $100M EBITDA at exit.

You will partner directly with the CEO to build and scale a multi-brand, multi-site restaurant platform, initially as the sole finance leader. This will include designing the financial infrastructure, reporting, and KPIs required to support an aggressive M&A and growth agenda across both majority and minority investments.

Unlike traditional PE timelines, the capital structure provides flexibility and long-term runway, enabling multiple value creation pathways, including portfolio construction, recapitalizations, and selective exits over time. This role is best suited for a highly hands-on, operational CFO who thrives in ambiguity and wants to build from scratch in a fast-paced, transaction-heavy environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first finance hire and strategic partner to the CEO in launching the platform

• Build finance, reporting, controls, and KPIs from inception

• Lead financial diligence, underwriting, and execution across platform acquisitions and tuck-ins

• Drive post-acquisition integration and performance improvement across portfolio brands

• Establish PE-grade reporting, forecasting, and board materials

• Support enterprise-level data strategy and business systems development

• Build and scale the finance organization as the platform grows\

Requirements

• Proven experience in private equity or PE-backed businesses

• Prior CFO or senior finance leadership experience in multi-site environments

• Strong buy-and-build / M&A experience, including integration

• Background in restaurants or closely related multi-site consumer businesses

• Demonstrated success in start-up or build-from-scratch environments

• Highly operational, hands-on profile
