As our new Mechanical Engineer, you’ll be responsible for planning and supervising mechanical and process engineering activities across our manufacturing plant and service equipment. By ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient operation of our assets, you'll help maximise performance, minimise downtime and support the continued success of our manufacturing operations.
Key responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate and oversee preventative and reactive maintenance activities to maximise plant reliability, minimise downtime and ensure business continuity.
- Lead mechanical, electrical and instrumentation (E&I) projects, from equipment upgrades and process improvements to major capital investment projects.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance safety, efficiency, reliability and production performance.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety and environmental standards, maintaining site documentation, procedures and engineering records.
- Provide technical leadership and support, managing contractors, developing colleagues and participating in the on-call rota to ensure effective engineering support when required.
What we’re looking for:
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSc or BEng) or equivalent qualification.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, including design, maintenance and relevant regulations, ideally within hazardous area environments.
- Excellent planning, organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and computerised maintenance systems.
- A proactive, quality-focused team player who is adaptable, self-motivated and committed to continuous improvement.
