Description

About the Company

We’re partnering with a fast-growing AI startup building autonomous systems that operate factories. Rather than creating another analytics dashboard, they connect fragmented manufacturing systems, ERPs, MES, PLCs, sensors, spreadsheets, and custom tools, into a unified data layer and deploy AI agents that make operational decisions in real time. Their mission is to solve one of the largest opportunities of the AI era: helping factories move closer to full utilization by eliminating operational bottlenecks, downtime, and inefficiencies. Long term, they envision a network of AI-powered factories optimizing production across entire supply chains.

Company Snapshot

  • Founded in 2024 and already raised $5M from First Round Capital.
  • Lean, high-caliber team of 7 employees with backgrounds from Neuralink, Tesla, Apple, AWS, and Microsoft AI Research.
  • Recently signed its first six-figure enterprise contract with a precision aerospace manufacturer supplying SpaceX and Blue Origin.
  • Building AI systems deployed directly into real-world factory environments where software decisions impact production, throughput, and profitability.
  • Founding team includes graduates from Cornell and Princeton with expertise spanning AI research, systems programming, operations research, manufacturing, and data engineering.
  • Team includes multiple ex-founders, engineers from Elon Musk companies, and specialists in optimizing complex real-world systems.

What's Exciting

  • Work on AI systems that directly impact physical operations, not just software workflows.
  • Own customer-facing products end-to-end with immediate visibility into your impact.
  • Join a flat, high-trust culture where every engineer has significant ownership and autonomy.
  • Build at the intersection of AI, robotics, manufacturing, operations research, and infrastructure.
  • Early-stage equity with meaningful upside potential as one of the first technical hires.

About the Role

You'll join as an early technical team member helping build AI systems that autonomously operate factories. Working across AI, infrastructure, data systems, and product development, you'll own customer-facing features from concept through deployment and collaborate directly with customers to solve real operational challenges. This role is ideal for engineers who thrive in high-ownership environments and enjoy building systems that operate in complex, real-world settings.

Responsibilities

  • Own and ship customer-facing features from ideation through deployment.
  • Build AI agent orchestration systems for factory operations and scheduling.
  • Develop systems that connect manufacturing infrastructure into a unified data layer.
  • Apply LLMs, reinforcement learning, and agent-based approaches in production environments.
  • Collaborate directly with customers and deploy solutions into live operations.
  • Design scalable backend systems, data pipelines, and infrastructure.
  • Contribute to product strategy and technical architecture.

Qualifications

  • 2–8 years of experience building production software systems.
  • Strong engineering fundamentals and product ownership mindset.
  • Experience shipping systems end-to-end in real-world environments.
  • Comfortable working across ambiguity and broad technical scope.
  • Background in AI/ML, systems programming, infrastructure, quantitative engineering, or startups is highly valued.
  • Prior startup or founder experience is a plus.

Pay range and compensation package

  • Compensation: $150K–$300K Base + Competitive Equity
  • Location: San Francisco, CA or New York City, NY
  • Work Model: 5 Days Onsite
