Project Manager | French Speaking

Job Context

Reporting to the Regional Vice President: Process Optimization and Development P&T, the Project Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of terminal development and business application implementation projects across the Africa Region.

The successful incumbent will oversee both Greenfield and Brownfield projects, ensuring the successful implementation of business applications and operational readiness through effective coordination of internal stakeholders, contractors, consultants, and technology vendors.

Operating in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, the Project Manager will manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing competing priorities while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with DP World governance frameworks, quality standards, and strategic business objectives.

The role requires close collaboration with Operations, Engineering, IT, Procurement, Security, Finance, Equipment Providers, and external partners to ensure seamless integration of all project deliverables and operational readiness across terminals.

Key Performance Areas (KPAs)

• Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and implementation plans aligned with business requirements and strategic goals.
• Develop, maintain, and monitor comprehensive project schedules, timelines, milestones, and resource plans.
• Manage project risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, and change requests to ensure successful project execution.
• Track project progress and implement corrective actions to address deviations from approved plans and schedules.
• Manage project budgets, forecasts, costs, and expenditures to ensure financial compliance and cost control.
• Prepare and present project status reports, dashboards, and updates to stakeholders, leadership teams, and Steering Committees.
• Coordinate effective communication and collaboration across Operations, Engineering, IT, Procurement, Security, Finance, and other cross-functional teams.
• Lead project governance activities and facilitate timely decision-making and issue resolution.
• Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT), training, change management, and business readiness activities to support successful operational handovers.
• Manage contractors, consultants, service providers, and technology vendors to ensure contractual obligations and delivery commitments are achieved.
• Prioritize project initiatives based on business value, operational readiness, customer commitments, and strategic objectives.
• Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure seamless execution across multiple project workstreams.
• Ensure compliance with DP World standards, corporate governance requirements, health and safety regulations, cybersecurity standards, and applicable legal requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery methodologies, operational efficiency, and governance processes.

Qualifications Required

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent recognized project management qualification.

Skills and Experience Required

• 8–12 years’ proven project management experience.
• Experience delivering large-scale projects within ports, terminals, logistics, infrastructure, or related industries.
• Experience managing multi-vendor and cross-functional projects.
• Demonstrated experience in business application implementation and operational readiness projects.
• Experience coordinating complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and workstreams.
• Strong understanding of seaport and terminal operations.
• Knowledge of terminal automation systems and operational technologies.
• Good understanding of IT infrastructure, enterprise applications, and system integration.
• Excellent project planning, scheduling, and resource management skills.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management capabilities.
• Effective risk management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and reporting skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, and influencing skills.
• High level of business acumen with the ability to align project delivery to strategic objectives.
