Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex, large-scale transformation and migration programmes within the financial services sector (banking or insurance). This role will focus on driving strategic change initiatives, including system modernisation, platform migrations, and operating model transformation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of large-scale transformation and migration programmes (e.g., core platform replacement, cloud migration, data transformation)
- Define project scope, objectives, timelines, and deliverables aligned to business and regulatory priorities
- Manage budgets, resources, dependencies, and risks across complex, multi-workstream initiatives
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including technology, operations, risk, and business stakeholders
- Ensure effective stakeholder engagement, including senior leadership and executive reporting
- Oversee migration planning and execution, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations
- Identify and mitigate delivery risks, particularly in highly regulated financial environments
- Drive adoption of new systems, processes, and ways of working
- Promote best practices in project governance, controls, and delivery methodologies
Requirements
- Proven experience managing large, complex projects in banking, insurance, or financial services
- Demonstrated track record delivering transformation or migration programmes (e.g., core banking/insurance systems, cloud, data platforms)
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills
- Experience operating in regulated environments with attention to compliance and risk
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams and dependencies across large programmes
- Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Clarity)
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, or similar project management certification
- Experience with Agile, hybrid, or large-scale programme delivery frameworks
- Knowledge of financial products, policy administration systems, or claims platforms (insurance) or core banking platforms
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and modernisation strategies
