The role of a Business Analyst is to to understand the user and business needs, by eliciting a set of clearly defined requirements, which can be turned into desired business outcomes, that are successfully adopted through the full project lifecycle across a number of concurrent projects within the EITS Portfolio of Projects.
The Business Analyst lead provides early stage and full lifecycle consultancy to senior business and projects stakeholders in order to help shape projects, establish feasibility and see them through to delivery.
This includes identification of project stakeholders, supporting definition of project scope and objectives and developing benefits to support the business case. As part of this process, the BA captures and manages business, functional and non-functional requirements and defines the as-is and to-be processes with multiple senior stakeholders.
Supporting business change is also a critical part of the role including working with the business areas and project team to define and support business change plans.
Core Duties:
Perform BA duties on projects as the sole BA, and/or support work-packages on a larger project, which may involve working with a Senior Business Analyst.
Support the Project Manager in identifying project stakeholders, defining the project scope and its business justification.
Provide the Project Manager with estimates for BA tasks for further project phases and status reports for BA activities
Elicit, analyse and gain approval for Critical Success Factors and business requirements.
Plan and lead workshops with stakeholders at all levels , across complex stakeholder organisations, for requirements and business process capture and documentation.
Develop and gain approval for system requirements (functional and non-functional).
Quality assure design documentation to assure traceability to requirements.
Support development teams, third party suppliers and test communities by acting as the voice of the customer on projects.
Support business change plans (including communications and training approaches and schedules) and support their implementation working with business change leads and the transition team.
Support continuous improvement through feedback on the existing processes.
