Head of AI Transformation – Global Sports Betting Technology Provider
About the Role
A leading global Sports Betting Technology provider is embarking on a company-wide transformation leveraging state-of-the-art AI technologies. They are not just seeking to automate workflows — they want to use AI to radically remake core business functions and deliver a step-change in service level to customers that will ultimately give the business a decisive competitive edge vs competition.
We are searching for a Head of AI Transformation to design, lead, and execute this transformation. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role is responsible for driving operational excellence (cheaper, faster, higher-quality delivery) and accelerating product development cycles through the intelligent use of AI.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring deep understanding of modern AI capabilities, strong execution skills, and the ability to drive change across teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and own the AI transformation strategy, aligned with company objectives for cost efficiency, speed, quality, and scalability
- Identify high-impact AI use cases across the business — especially in operations, support, product development, and software development
- Build and maintain a prioritised AI roadmap with clear ROI metrics
- Evaluate, select, and implement AI technologies, and define the cost-effective architecture to host the services
- Act as a change agent to drive AI adoption across teams
Experience & Competencies Required
- Proven experience leading large-scale technology or digital transformations, preferably involving AI and IT automation
- Experience in software development, IT engineering, or product development
- Experience working in complex, high-availability environments (gaming, trading, payments, etc.)
- Deep understanding of AI/ML concepts, especially LLMs and agentic AI
- Strong communicator able to translate complex ideas into concrete solutions
- Ability to influence colleagues across a matrix organisation
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity
- Hands-on mindset — comfortable rolling up sleeves when needed
- Experience in sportsbook (nice to have)
