We seek to add a highly motivated Civil Engineer-Estimator to join our team that supports the Post-tensioning business in North America focused on products and systems utilized in foundation construction and slope stabilization different kind of projects focused odifferent kind of projects focused on optimizing span capacity, reducing material use, and controlling cracking as parking garages, residential and commercial buildings, bridges, foundations, etc.
The candidate will review blueprints, drawings, and specifications sent by the different clients to elaborate on the final Quote.The candidate will review blueprints, drawings, and specifications sent by the different clients to elaborate on the final Quote. The candidate will calculate takeoff, review the client's requirements, interact with colleagues, and recommend the best solution reflected in the Quote based on cost, availability of materials, and suggested assemblies.
The Civil Engineer estimator is required with high Proficiency in English and experience in construction estimation or related fields.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out the daily Quote requirement by customers in the USA
- Perform cost estimates ensuring compliance with engineering principles, project requirements, and company standards.
- Conduct quantity takeoffs for all requirements and review project plans/specifications to understand the project's scope and reflect it in the Quote.
- When necessary, assist by direct phone call to client's request in the USA, ensuring the complete Knowledge of the project to send accurate quotes.
- Conduct research to obtain data on labor costs, materials, production times, etc.
- Promote construction best practices and product innovation.
- Participate in Microsoft Teams web meetings with Company staff and its customers as required.
- Monitor all addendums, scope changes, and breakouts to ensure they are incorporated into the estimate.
- Compile summary reports to develop guidelines and precedence for future estimates.
Requirements:
- Excellent English Proficiency is required to interact with native English speakers, talk, understand, write, and read fluently. During the day-to-day work, all the instruction, training, and request will be in the English language.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil engineering
- 2 – 3 years of experience in construction Estimating or related.
- Thoroughness, reliability, excellent organizational skills, and a desire and ability to work remotely and independently.
- High Proficient in using Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or any estimating software is considered an asset but not mandatory.
- Excellent math and computational skills.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical documents to prepare estimates.
- Ability to interpret structural/Project drawings and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and thorough review of drawings and notes, ensuring all critical information that may impact the estimate is fully understood and accurately reflected in project costs.
- Good time-management skills
- Knowledge of the different post-tensioning systems and their applications.
- General Knowledge of estimating techniques cost control, and material pricing is required.
- The ability to calculate mathematical extensions, read and understand engineering drawings, purchase orders, contracts, cost coding systems, etc.
- The work environment includes a business office, with the possibility of remote work in exceptional cases.
