Seasonal Coach - Upper School Varsity Girls Soccer Head Coach

Seattle Academy competes in the Metro League at the 3A classification. We are looking for talented, engaging, and compassionate coaches for our Upper School Girls Varsity Soccer program to help us advance our vision of being an inclusive community of learners that provides an outstanding education for each individual in a diverse student population. We need coaches who understand best practices in their respective sport and are passionate about coaching and enhancing student life.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Knowledge of given sport and teaches appropriate fundamentals, techniques and skills.
• Is responsible for the health and safety of the student-athletes.
• Articulates a well-defined and understandable coaching philosophy.
• Applies developmentally appropriate and age appropriate methods to coaching student-athletes.
• Emphasizes sportsmanship and leadership among athletes.
• Clearly communicates to players, parents, administrators, and staff.
• Positively motivates athletes and promotes teamwork.
• Attends all meetings and trainings as required by the league and/or Athletic Director.
• Is familiar with and complies with all policies and regulations as put forth in the school's documents.
• Since safety and security are everyone’s responsibility, take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, faculty, staff, equipment, materials, and facilities.

Upper School Division: Upper School practices are up to five days a week, with up to three competitions each week.

Salary:

Salary Stipend for Head Coach is $7,000-$7,000. This Part-Time seasonal position does not qualify for benefits.

Required Education & Experience:

• High School diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Demonstrated competence and experience in coaching.
• Must possess or be willing to obtain a valid First Aid/CPR card.
• Completion of all WIAA certifications.
