This role offers the opportunity to work at the position of Assistant Manager in the finance team
Role Overview
The Assistant Manager – Finance will support the day-to-day financial operations of the organisation. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate accounting records, managing the monthly invoicing cycle, and supporting internal and external audit processes. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring financial compliance, integrity, and efficiency across the finance function.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger entries in accordance with accounting standards.
- Prepare annual financial statements and monthly accounts.
- Perform bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and intercompany reconciliations.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis reports.
- Ensure correct Fixed assets and depreciation accounting and maintain the fixed assets register
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all deadlines are met.
Monthly Invoicing
- Manage the end-to-end monthly invoicing cycle
- Monitor accounts receivable and payables, follow up on outstanding invoices, and maintain an aged debtors report.
- Verify supplier invoices, purchase orders, and expense claims.
- Resolve billing discrepancies and queries from vendors in a timely manner.
Audit Support
- Serve as a key point of contact for internal and external auditors, providing documentation and explanations as required.
- Assist in the preparation of audit schedules, working papers, and supporting evidence.
- Support the implementation of audit recommendations and remediation of findings.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal controls and financial processes.
Compliance & Controls
- Ensure adherence to applicable accounting standards (e.g. GAAP/ IND AS / IFRS) and company financial policies.
- Support in monthly and quarterly tax statutory compliances
- Identify and flag risks, discrepancies, or irregularities to the Finance Manager.
- Maintain organised and auditable financial records and documentation.
Team & Stakeholder Management
- Liaise with cross-functional teams including HR and Operations on finance-related matters.
- Prepare financial summaries and reports for senior management as needed.
- Communicate effectively with global teammates, adapting style to suit diverse cultural backgrounds, varying levels of financial fluency, and different time zones.
Eligibility & Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Part-qualified or fully qualified in a recognised accounting body (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA) – or equivalent experience.
Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of progressive experience in a finance or audit role.
- Proven experience managing invoicing processes and accounts receivable/payable cycles.
- Demonstrable experience supporting audit engagements (internal or external).
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. SAP, Oracle, Microsoft GP or similar ERP systems).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modelling).
Skill Set
- Experience in a finance shared services or multi-entity environment.
- Exposure to process improvement initiatives or systems implementation projects.
- Knowledge of relevant tax regulations (VAT/GST, corporate tax, withholding tax).
- Good communication skills to deal with global teammates
- Familiarity with AI-powered finance tools (e.g. automated reconciliation, Microsoft 365 tools) and an awareness of how emerging AI capabilities can enhance financial operations.
