Join the Port Authority team as a Senior IT Systems Administrator. The IT Systems Administrator administrates, supports and ensures the secure operation of the organisations core IT and OT systems and platforms.  The role provides Level 2 support and acts as a senior escalation point. 

Job Description

This role is a permanent position based in Newcastle, and will report to the Service Delivery Manager based in Sydney.

Here’s How Your Impact Will Truly Count

  • Deliver timely, customer focussed support and administration across the IT and OT environments meeting the needs of internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Perform analysis to troubleshoot hardware, software and network issues within defined SLA ensuring customer satisfaction 
  • Act as a senior escalation point for Desktop and infrastructure incidents 
  • Provide administrative support to the organisation’s desktop environment including M365, Active Directory, Entra-ID and Intune. 
  • Evaluate applications and software patches for deployment to desktop, including packaging software in MS Intune. 
  • Support high availability and disaster recovery processes including back-up / recovery and patching. 
  • Implement and support evolving security implementations aligned with Essential 8 and NIST certification initiatives and compliance. 
  • Provision IT infrastructure in compliance with procurement policies and processes.

Desired Skills And Experience

What you’ll bring

  • Tertiary qualifications in IT or Engineering or equivalent experience 
  • Broad experience and application of OT ad IT networking and security concepts (SCADA) 
  • Relevant vendor certifications such as Microsoft and Cisco 
  • Significant experience in M365 administration, Windows Active Directory, Axure AD, ServiceNow or other similar applications 
  • Current drivers licence 
  • Willingness to travel between locations within the portfolio 
  • Willingness to participate in on call arrangements
