Solutions Engineer - Payroll Systems

As a Solution Engineer, you will analyze and support technical systems, with a primary focus on payroll platforms and related integrations, while also contributing across adjacent systems and workflows. You will partner with business stakeholders and technical teams to design, implement, and optimize solutions that improve system performance, data integrity, and user experience.

You will play a key role in translating business needs into technical solutions, supporting system integrations, and ensuring reliable delivery across the data and application ecosystem.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Translate business and process owner requirements into actionable technical solution deliverables
  • Collaborate with architects and engineers to design scalable end user solutions
  • Partner with business users to enhance solutions based on evolving requirements
  • Analyze, profile, and map data, identify issues, and implement remediation solutions
  • Configure and support systems with custom requirements, improving efficiency and streamlining processes
  • Develop and maintain technical mapping and sourcing documentation in partnership with upstream data owners
  • Support end to end solution delivery including design, configuration, validation, and production support
  • Ensure integration and delivery processes are followed across all implementations
  • Develop proof of concepts and validate functionality of deployed solutions
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system, integration, and user issues
  • Act as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure alignment and clarity
  • Collaborate with developers, testers, BI teams, and leadership to ensure solutions meet defined standards

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
  • Strong understanding of platform architecture and how system delivery impacts end users
  • Experience writing complex queries using SQL, SAS, or similar tools
  • Ability to translate high level business requirements into detailed technical specifications
  • Experience working across cross functional disciplines including business analysis, data analysis, testing, and architecture
  • Strong Agile experience, including hands on use of Jira and Confluence

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting payroll systems, payroll integrations, or payroll related workflows
  • Exposure to audit, compliance, or control driven environments
  • Experience creating and maintaining documentation including SOPs, job aids, and process guides
  • Familiarity with integrations, data flows, and file transfer methods including APIs and SFTP
  • Experience supporting HR platforms such as learning, performance, onboarding, benefits, or time off systems
  • Exposure to release coordination, testing, UAT, or change management processes
  • Experience supporting distributed or high volume enterprise environments

Hours and Work Schedule

  • 40 hours per week
  • Monday through Friday
  • Hybrid schedule, 4 days on site, 1 day remote

Pay Transparency

The salary range for this position is from $91,000-105,000 per year, plus an opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus. Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to, the budget, work location, relevant skills, and experience.
