Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer

Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to oversee the execution and delivery of MEP projects, with a primary focus on mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and firefighting systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing site activities, coordinating with stakeholders, ensuring compliance with project specifications and authority requirements, and driving projects through execution, testing, commissioning, and handover.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong Mechanical Engineering background and proven experience delivering MEP projects within the UAE, ensuring quality, safety, cost control, and timely completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the execution of mechanical works including HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and firefighting systems across multiple MEP projects.
- Plan, monitor, and supervise site activities to ensure project milestones and delivery schedules are achieved.
- Manage and coordinate site engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure smooth project execution.
- Monitor productivity, resource allocation, and material utilization to optimize project performance.
- Ensure all mechanical installations are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, project requirements, and applicable standards.
- Review shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and technical documentation to support project execution.
- Coordinate with consultants, clients, architects, structural engineers, and other disciplines to resolve site-related technical issues.
- Facilitate timely approvals and ensure effective communication among all project stakeholders.
- Identify and mitigate project risks that may impact progress, quality, or budget.
- Ensure compliance with local authority regulations, project specifications, and international engineering standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality standards and safety requirements are consistently maintained.
- Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions where required.
- Support value engineering initiatives to improve project efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Oversee testing and commissioning activities for all mechanical systems.
- Coordinate inspections and approvals with clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities.
- Ensure successful project closeout, including preparation of as-built drawings, O&M manuals, commissioning reports, and handover documentation.
- Support defect liability period activities and ensure timely resolution of outstanding issues.
- Monitor project costs and support commercial teams in managing variations and claims.
- Assist in project planning, forecasting, and resource management to ensure projects remain within budget.
- Provide regular progress updates and reports to project management and senior leadership.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (mandatory).
- Minimum 8–12 years of experience in MEP project execution and site management, with a strong focus on mechanical systems.
- Proven experience delivering HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and firefighting works on large-scale commercial, residential, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of UAE authority regulations, engineering standards, and MEP execution practices.
- Experience managing subcontractors, site teams, testing & commissioning activities, and project handovers.
- Strong understanding of project planning, engineering coordination, material approvals, and construction methodologies.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and project management tools.
- UAE driving licence is preferred.
