Our client is a mid market manufacturer of direct food contact packaging serving food manufacturers, processors, and foodservice customers nationwide. Following significant investments in capacity and operational capabilities, the company is entering an accelerated growth phase and seeking a Chief Commercial Officer to help drive its next chapter of growth.
Reporting directly to the CEO, the CCO will play a critical role in expanding the customer base, accelerating new business development, and building a scalable commercial organization capable of supporting ambitious growth objectives.
What We're Looking For
- Primary Food Packaging Expertise - Deep commercial leadership experience within primary food packaging and a strong understanding of the commercialization process.
- New Customer Acquisition & Market Expansion - A proven hunter with a track record of opening doors, winning new business, and driving profitable growth.
- Team Development - Experience building, leading, and developing high-performing sales organizations.
- Commercial Process & Operating Discipline - Success implementing forecasting, pipeline management, CRM discipline, and sales accountability.
- Pace, Urgency & Execution - The company is entering a pivotal phase of growth that requires a leader who creates momentum, drives urgency, and delivers measurable outcomes.
Qualifications
- 15+ years of progressive sales leadership experience with direct responsibility for revenue growth
- Prior sales leadership experience within a direct food contact packaging manufacturer required
- Proven track record of winning new business and expanding customer relationships in complex, long-cycle sales environments
- Deep understanding of the commercialization process, including customer qualification, technical collaboration, trials, and product launches
- Experience building, leading, and upgrading high-performing sales organizations
- Demonstrated success establishing sales discipline through forecasting, pipeline management, activity metrics, and CRM adoption
- Strong executive presence with the ability to influence customers, internal stakeholders, and ownership groups
- Hands-on, player-coach leadership style with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
