Role Purpose

The Project Quality Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of construction projects by establishing, implementing, and maintaining robust quality management systems throughout the project life cycle.

The role is responsible for driving compliance with company quality standards, client requirements, and ISO 9001 principles while promoting a strong "Right First Time" culture across project teams. Working closely with project management, construction, commissioning, subcontractors, and suppliers, the Project Quality Manager ensures quality is embedded in all aspects of project execution, reducing risk, improving performance, and delivering successful project outcomes.

Team Summary

The Quality Function serves a critical purpose by overseeing and managing the quality aspects of our construction projects. Its primary goal is to ensure compliance with industry standards, building codes, and regulations, thereby fostering a culture of quality assurance and control.

Through the implementation of rigorous processes, the department aims to prevent defects and errors throughout the project lifecycle. This involves regular inspections, audits, and continuous improvement of construction processes. The Quality Function also plays a pivotal role in managing relationships with suppliers and contractors, approving quality plans, and addressing concerns related to materials or workmanship.

By maintaining comprehensive documentation, providing regular reports to stakeholders, and facilitating training programmes, the department enhances awareness and commitment to quality standards across project teams.

Additionally, it contributes to risk management, identifies and addresses quality-related risks, and ensures completed projects meet or exceed client expectations.

Ultimately, the Quality Function fosters a culture of continuous improvement, contributing to the successful delivery of high-quality projects from inception through to handover.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, client requirements, building regulations, and ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.

Develop, implement, and maintain project-specific quality plans, procedures, and quality management processes. Lead quality assurance activities to ensure construction works are delivered in accordance with approved specifications and standards.

Manage quality control processes, including Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), Quality Hold Points, Quality Sign-Off procedures, inspections, and testing activities.

Conduct regular quality audits, inspections, and assessments across project activities, subcontractors, and suppliers.

Monitor and manage non-conformances (NCRs), corrective actions, and preventive actions to drive continuous improvement. Maintain comprehensive quality records, documentation, and reporting throughout the project lifecycle.

Collaborate closely with project teams, subcontractors, consultants, and clients to resolve quality-related issues. Review and approve subcontractor and supplier quality documentation, procedures, and inspection plans.

Support project teams in implementing lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives. Deliver quality-related training and awareness programmes to project personnel and subcontractors.

Identify and manage quality-related risks and develop mitigation strategies. Support project handover activities by ensuring all quality documentation, inspections, testing, and certification requirements are completed. Promote and embed a strong "Right First Time" culture across all project activities.

What We're Looking For Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quality Management, or a related discipline. Previous experience as a Project Quality Manager, Quality Manager, QA/QC Manager, or similar quality leadership role. Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems. Experience implementing and managing Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), quality inspections, audits, and CR processes. Experience working on large-scale construction projects. Data Centre, Mission Critical, Industrial, Pharmaceutical, Manufacturing, or Logistics project experience would be highly advantageous. Strong understanding of construction methodologies, quality processes, and project delivery. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. Strong organisational, problem-solving, and analytical abilities. Ability to work effectively within fast-paced project environments. Fluent English required; additional European languages are advantageous.
