Job Purpose
One Web is one of the three large pieces of the company’s omnipresence strategy and the most important — an integrated, hyper-personalized digital platform spanning payments, cards, wallets, loans, deposits, investments and lifestyle commerce. The One Web Front End Developer (Web Analytics) builds high-performance, accessible front-end experiences (React/Next.js) and owns the measurement layer that sits on top of them. The role is responsible for the governance and quality of all web analytics across a digital asset with 100K+ pages and 100+ unique buy journeys — defining the GA4 event taxonomy and front-end measurement schema, implementing and auditing tagging and marketing pixels through GTM, reconciling GSC vs GA data, and turning raw traffic data into trustworthy insights and reports for business and marketing stakeholders. The candidate balances clean, performant front-end engineering (Core Web Vitals, especially INP) with rigorous, privacy-aware instrumentation in an RBI-regulated NBFC. They are expected to operate as an AI-assisted developer from day one — using tools like GitHub Copilot, Claude Code and VS Code to generate, review and refactor components, tag templates, GTM configurations and report queries, with a strong grasp of prompt design, context management and verification of AI-generated output.
Duties And Responsibilities
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Front-End Development
- Build and maintain high-performance, accessible front-end components and pages (React/Next.js, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3) with measurement designed in, not bolted on.
- Protect Core Web Vitals — especially INP — ensuring tags, pixels and the data layer never degrade page performance.
- Set and enforce coding standards for the measurement and data-layer code that ships with each component.
- Analytics Instrumentation & Event Governance
- Define, document and govern the GA4 event taxonomy and front-end measurement schema — event names, parameters, naming conventions and event contracts — as a single source of truth.
- Design and manage the data layer across all pages and buy journeys so events are consistent, complete and reusable.
- Implement and manage marketing and conversion pixels (Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn and similar) through Google Tag Manager, with performance and consent discipline.
- Own the GTM container hygiene — tags, triggers, variables, versioning and capacity — preventing pixel sprawl.
- GA Audit & Quality
- Audit the analytics instrumentation implemented by developers across pods — verifying events fire correctly, parameters populate, and there is no duplication, gap or PII leakage.
- Establish a QA / validation process for tagging (debug view, preview mode, automated checks) and embed instrumentation review as a governance gate in the SDLC.
- Maintain tagging documentation, change logs and governance standards that scale across a distributed pod structure.
- Measurement Analysis & Reporting
- Perform GSC vs GA ratio analysis — reconciling Search Console impressions/clicks against GA sessions to explain discrepancies and surface tracking or indexing issues.
- Generate traffic insights from GA4 across acquisition, behavior and conversion, and translate them into clear narratives for stakeholders.
- Build and maintain reports and dashboards (GA4 Explorations, Looker Studio) and deliver the recurring reporting cadence the business needs.
- Consent, Privacy & Compliance
- Implement and maintain Google Consent Mode v2 and CMP integration so measurement is accurate and compliant.
- Uphold DPDP, RBI data-handling and CERT-In guardrails — no customer PII in analytics, tags or the data layer.
- AI-Assisted Engineering (Day-One Expectation)
- Use GitHub Copilot, Claude Code or equivalent AI assistants as a primary day-to-day tool for component generation, tag templates, GTM configs, dataLayer code, report queries and documentation — not as an optional add-on.
- Write effective prompts and context scaffolding (clear intent, constraints, examples, acceptance criteria) to produce production-grade React/Next.js and measurement code on the first or second attempt.
- Maintain project-level AI context files (e.g., CLAUDE.md, copilot-instructions.md) capturing standards, event-schema rules and RBI/compliance guardrails for the team’s repos.
- Critically review AI-gen|
- Critically review AI-generated output for security (XSS, PII leakage), performance (bundle size, INP) and tracking correctness before committing.
- Practise responsible AI hygiene — no secrets, API keys, customer PII or production configs in prompts; follow Bajaj Finserv’s approved-tool list and data-handling policy at all times.
- Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Execute POCs to validate measurement, tagging and reporting approaches with scalable, performant solutions.
- Stay current on the web-measurement landscape (GA4, server-side GTM, first-party / cookieless data, AI-for-analytics) and proactively surface opportunities to the senior developer / architect.
