Deposita a leading cash & payment solutions company has a vacancy for a Cashbook Clerk based at our Head Office in Midrand reporting to the Financial Controller.
The Cashbook Clerk will be responsible for compiling data, verifying and reconciling receipts as well as payments. Processing bank statements of all the cash books for both G4S Deposita and G4S 360 International. Handling petty cash and debit card processing and reconciling. Assisting the Debtors team with processing of master data on Pastel and collections of outstanding debtors.

Main Responsibilities
Maintain Financial Records
- Processing of Cash book transactions
- Processing of Petty Cash transactions
- Processing of Debit and Credit Card Transactions
- Processing of contracts (Debtors)
- Assist Team with adhoc tasks
Working Relationships
- Liaise with internal departments: Settlements, Finance and Reconciliations
- Liaise with all the Banking Institutions
- Assist with Internal and External Audit
Reporting
- Daily Cash Book reconciliations for all the cash books
- Monthly reconciliation of petty cash and physical cash count
- Update of Banking Confirmations and Bank Mandates
Legislation and Company Procedures
- Ensure adherence to ISO & Company policies & procedures
- Review standard processes and procedures and identify areas for improvement
- Initiate, coordinate and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures
- Adhere to all warehousing, handling and shipping legislation requirements
Health and Safety
- Participate in the design/ development/ review/ implementation and monitoring of the departmental safety plans for each year
- Participate in safety forums created by the company for example safety meetings and safety talks
- Report all safety incidents to the relevant people
- Discuss all safety incidents
- Follow-up on any activities assigned through safety meeting/committee/representative/management
- Attend safety education and refresher programs
- Comply with safety policies and procedures at the workplace
- Distribute safety information as and when required
Information Security
- Comply with all Information Security policies, procedures, and training requirements.
- Immediately report any suspected or confirmed information security incidents.
- Protect company data and confidential information from unauthorised access or disclosure.
- Use company systems, email, and devices responsibly, avoiding suspicious links or unauthorised software.
- Adhere to secure document handling, storage, and disposal practices at all times.
Qualification and Experience
- Grade 12
- A Diploma or Degree in Accounting (Advantageous)
- A minimum of 2-3 years relevant experience in the financial and accounting environment would be deemed appropriate for this level.
