Position: Senior Electrical & Instrumentation Designer
Location: Pune
Role Overview
Senior E&I Designer responsible for independently executing detailed Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) design, 3D modelling, drafting, and documentation for water and wastewater treatment projects. The role ensures technically compliant, high-quality, and cost-effective designs while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and supporting project delivery objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed E&I designs, drawings, and project documentation for engineering projects, rentals, and operational upgrades.
- Prepare and maintain:
- Cable layouts (2D/3D)
- Cable tray sizing and BOMs
- Electrical room layouts
- Lighting, earthing, and lightning protection layouts
- Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) and wiring schematics
- Cable schedules and interconnection schedules
- Instrument loop drawings and hook-ups
- Junction box wiring drawings
- Control system architecture drawings
- Structural/fabrication drawings for E&I supports
- Prepare BOQs and maintain up-to-date drawing records and as-built drawings.
- Participate in design reviews, model reviews, ISO audits, and quality assurance activities.
- Coordinate interface engineering activities with other disciplines.
- Ensure compliance with quality systems, technical standards, project schedules, and budgets.
- Review and provide feedback on E&I design and drafting work completed by team members.
- Drive continuous improvement, innovation, training participation, and knowledge sharing.
Key Requirements:
Education & Qualifications
- Certified Drafting Course (Essential)
- Certification in AutoCAD or Plant Modelling Software (Preferred)
Experience
- 10+ years of experience in detailed Electrical Design, preferably within water and wastewater treatment projects.
- Knowledge of IS, IEC, and other relevant electrical standards and codes.
- Experience supporting engineering project delivery teams.
- Understanding of water treatment process units is desirable.
Technical Skills
- Strong expertise in AutoCAD and plant modelling software.
- Experience with E&I design documentation, drafting, and multidisciplinary coordination.
- Working knowledge of ISO Quality Management Systems.
