Position Details
About the Role
This is a terrific opportunity for Data Engineers who are interested in working with Azure Data Factory, Databricks and Power BI as Flinders' new Senior Data & Analytics Architect & Engineer.
You will play a key role in the design, development, and delivery of enterprise data and analytics solutions, and be responsible for providing technical and operational leadership across the full data lifecycle, including architecture, planning, development, configuration, maintenance, and ongoing support of data platforms and services.
Working within and enhancing established data and analytics architecture principles, guardrails, and design standards, you will ensure the reliability, scalability, and integrity of data solutions that support a large, complex organisation of 4,000+ staff.
A significant focus of this role is the extraction, integration, and optimisation of data to enable impactful insights-particularly in support of research initiatives and student-focused services. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand data needs, improve access to high-quality data, and drive innovation across analytics capabilities.

About You
You are a high-level strategic thinker with data and analytical skills to match, along with broad experience in building and managing customer relationships and expectations. Your exemplary interpersonal skills allow you to negotiate, influence and communicate effectively across a diverse organisation particularly during the design, management and implementation of customer solutions.
You will also need:
Higher education experience is advantageous, however, it is expected that the successful candidate will hold an appropriate tertiary qualification in Information Technology or relevant technical area, and / or equivalent relevant experience in an IT environment.

IDS are a pivotal resource of the University, providing information and digital technology services and support to the Flinders University staff and student community. The IDS team apply technical expertise to support university projects and provide core services such as the IDS Service Desk, Audio visual, simulation and event services, Information security and identity access management services and more.
