The Chemical Manufacturing Operator packages and samples chemical specialty products; following strict safety, housekeeping, formulation and quality procedures while maximizing output.

Chemical Operator

Responsibilities

  • Prepare pumping equipment, containers, and samples of both hazardous and non-hazardous products while following all safety precautions and procedures.
  • Operate a hi-lo to facilitate the movement of materials.
  • Once proficiency is proven in the packaging of materials, the incumbent will begin compounding production batches.
  • Document pertinent information for the contents of each waste tote and/or drum; ensure each container is sampled, stored, and labeled correctly noting distinction between waste types.
  • Maintain all relevant batch processing instructions.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain a clean, orderly work environment
  • Experience using and managing inventory management systems

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Ability to make gross or fine adjustments to parts, machines, vehicles or controls that require coordinating fine or gross finger or hand movement with visual information.
