Sidekick (YC P26) is an early-stage, Y Combinator-backed startup building an AI assistant for frontline and manufacturing workers. Unlike most software, Sidekick works entirely over text, with no app and no login, on any phone, so the millions of deskless workers left behind by traditional tools can finally get help on the job. We're growing fast and looking for driven people to help us reach more businesses.

About the Role

As a Business Development Representative Intern, you'll sit at the very top of our sales engine. Here's the best part: you won't be cold prospecting or scouring the internet for contacts. We provide a curated list of warm leads, so you can focus entirely on what you do best - starting conversations, sparking interest in Sidekick, and booking demos for our team. This is a high-velocity outreach role built for someone who's energized by the phone and motivated by hitting goals. You'll work directly with the founder and get a front-row seat to how an early-stage startup actually sells.

This is a summer internship running through September, with the goal of identifying standout performers to bring on full-time afterward.

What You'll Do

  • Reach out to a curated list of warm leads that we provide (no cold list-building required)
  • Start conversations with business owners and operators and explain why Sidekick matters to frontline-heavy businesses
  • Qualify prospects and book demos for the founding team
  • Track your outreach and results, and iterate on what's working
  • Share feedback from the field to help sharpen our messaging and targeting

What We're Looking For

  • Current college student (all years welcome)
  • Comfortable and confident on the phone, you don't mind dialing all day
  • Persistent and resilient, you treat a "no" as practice for the next "yes"
  • Strong communicator, both verbal and written
  • Self-motivated and coachable, with a bias toward action
  • Available to commit consistent hours through the summer and into September
  • Bonus: prior SDR, BDR, sales, club, or other customer-facing experience

Compensation & Timeline

This is a summer internship that runs through September. Compensation is commission-based, so you earn based on the results you deliver. More importantly, we're using the program to identify exceptional talent - top-performing interns will be considered for a full-time role at the end, with opportunities for equity and increased responsibility as the company grows.
