Job Descriptio
nThe incumbent will support the best interests and needs of Veolia by providing professional service to our wastewater customers. The Operation and Maintenance Tech does so in the wastewater treatment plant operation and collection system functions. The Operation and Maintenance Tech - Wastewater is a multi-tasking employee who assures that the treatment plant is operating at maximum efficiency, maintains all appurtenances associated with lift stations and collection system and performs field customer service. The Operations and Maintenance Tech will also assist Operators, provide relief as necessary and be part of the rotational on-call team
.The incumbent must have a strong technical knowledge of and hands-on experience working in the operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment plant facilities (preferred), basic/advanced knowledge of electrical and electronic systems, hydraulic and mechanical principles pertinent to wastewater treatment plant and collection system operations, basic experience with chemical feed pumps and UV disinfection, ability to detect flaws in the operation of mechanical equipment and troubleshoot to determine proper remedial measures, ability to conduct wastewater quality testing, calculations, instrument calibrations with accuracy and record results with accuracy, ability to navigate computer and learn programs associated with his/her position, ability to use SCADA and other electronic devices relative to the operation, ability to read and interpret plant drawings, collection system maps and instrumentation schematics, skill in the proper operation and care of a variety of specialized wastewater equipment/materials/tools, ability to understand and follow complex oral and written instructions, ability to work in adverse conditions, thorough knowledge of the safety hazards associated with working at wastewater treatment facilities and use of appropriate personal protective equipment and monitoring devices

Primary Duties/Responsibilities
- : Operates, maintains, repairs and inspects treatment plant and collection system equipment to assure compliance with all applicable state and federal regulation
