Engineering

The engineering team is focused on pushing the boundaries of what AI can do for complex document analysis and legal workflows. Key innovations include:

• An AI agent that lives directly inside Microsoft Word and edits documents in place
• Replacing traditional embedding-based approaches with agentic RAG architectures
• Large-scale LLM-powered legal fact extraction
• High-accuracy search across large contract repositories
• Clustering related legal documents into document families
• Automated deviation analysis to uncover hidden risk across contract databases
• Contract amendment merging to create historical "composite" contract timelines

Role: Senior Backend Engineer

Backend Engineers build and scale the systems that power these innovations.

Responsibilities

• Build systems that process and analyze millions of contracts reliably
• Design pipelines that orchestrate LLMs, data extraction workflows, and clustering algorithms at scale
• Develop highly accurate search and retrieval systems
• Collaborate closely with legal, product, and engineering teams to create new AI-native capabilities
• Help shape the technical foundation of a rapidly growing platform

Compensation

Base Salary Range: $287,000 - $485,000 USD

Final compensation will be determined based on experience, expertise, and overall fit.
