About the Role

As a CBRE Data Center Technician, you will perform preventative maintenance and corrective repairs within a data center environment.

This role sits within CBRE's Critical and Technical Services function, responsible for delivering technical maintenance services in mission-critical client environments.

What You'll Do

  • Assist with daily site inspections of all mechanical & engineering systems and technical equipment, including servicing and maintenance
  • Ensure the site's environmental conditions provide a safe working environment
  • Respond to Building Management System (BMS) alarms and complete emergency repairs as needed
  • Work with third-party vendors, ensuring compliance with company processes, procedures, and regulations
  • Alert management if subcontractor performance does not meet requirements under the Master Service Agreement
  • Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on all equipment
  • Monitor BMS systems and respond to HVAC/cooling-related issues
  • Conduct building walkthroughs and take meter readings from UPS, PDUs, and utilities
  • Troubleshoot and resolve facility and plant faults and defects
  • Follow established processes and procedures, ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and perform routine quality checks
  • Complete all required training to support successful job performance
  • Work under close supervision, following clearly defined tasks, processes, and responsibilities

What You'll Need

  • Technical training in a relevant discipline (apprenticeship or equivalent) with 1-2 years of experience
  • Mechanical / Cooling (HVAC) competence is required
  • Ability to work shift patterns, including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the role
  • Strong communication skills to interact with colleagues, clients, and management
  • Ability to follow structured routines and procedures
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset
  • Basic math skills (percentages, simple calculations, etc.)
