About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Technical Service Engineer to provide expert pre- and post-sales support to both internal teams and customers. You will deliver high-quality remote technical consulting, troubleshoot complex issues, and occasionally support customers on-site.

This role acts as a key link between local operations and our global Technical Support HQ, ensuring fast, effective resolution of technical queries and challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to technical enquiries within agreed service levels
  • Provide remote technical support and consultancy on Festo products and systems
  • Diagnose faults, perform root cause analysis, and implement solutions
  • Support product selection, sizing (dimensioning), and application design
  • Develop and test customer applications, including programming and simulations
  • Deliver service support remotely and on-site as required
  • Document and report service activities and outcomes
  • Contribute to continuous improvement through feedback and process enhancements
  • Share technical expertise through training, documentation, and demonstrations
  • Escalate complex issues to HQ or Application Engineering where required

About You

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or similar (essential)
  • Postgraduate qualifications or relevant diploma (advantageous)

Experience & Skills

  • 3–4+ years’ experience in a similar technical or automation role
  • Strong knowledge of control systems and PLC programming
  • (e.g. Siemens, Omron, Allen-Bradley, Beckhoff, Festo)
  • Experience with sensors, servo systems, motor controllers, and remote I/O
  • Solid understanding of pneumatics, compressed air systems, and energy efficiency
  • Customer-focused with strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities

Working Relationships

  • No direct reports
  • Works closely with Application Engineering, Shared Services, and Technical Support HQ (global)
