Our national eCommerce client is seeking an experienced Digital Copywriter with deep direct-to-consumer (DTC) copywriting expertise and a strong AI technologies to join a fast-paced Creative Services team. This role is ideal for a highly skilled short form digital copywriter and editor who excels at developing compelling, conversion-focused messaging while leveraging AI as a creative accelerator to enhance ideation, workflow efficiency, and content development.
The ideal candidate combines exceptional storytelling ability, strategic thinking, and strong editorial judgment with a passion for innovation and crafting digital campaigns. You will play a critical role in shaping customer-facing communications across the entire digital marketing funnel, ensuring every touchpoint delivers measurable business impact and maintains a consistent, compelling brand voice.
- Rate: $55-$60/hr. DOE
- Location: Remote, ongoing contract, 40 hours weekly
Responsibilities:
- Develop compelling copy across multiple customer touchpoints including email, digital advertising, website/onsite experiences, social media, promotional campaigns, and brand initiatives.
- Utilize generative AI tools to accelerate concept development, messaging exploration, audience segmentation, and content variations.
- Review, refine, and elevate AI-assisted content while ensuring high standards of quality, accuracy, and brand consistency.
- Translate customer insights, campaign objectives, and business goals into strategic messaging frameworks and creative solutions.
- Partner cross-functionally with designers, marketers, project managers, and stakeholders to deliver high-performing creative work.
- Participate in project kickoffs, evaluate creative briefs, ask thoughtful questions, and identify opportunities to strengthen messaging outcomes.
- Independently manage multiple projects while balancing shifting priorities and tight deadlines.
- Adapt messaging by audience segment, customer lifecycle stage, marketing funnel objectives, and channel best practices.
- Maintain and evolve brand voice consistency across all customer-facing communications.
- Serve as a quality gatekeeper by ensuring all copy—whether human-created or AI-assisted—meets editorial and brand standards.
Qualifications:
- 6+ years of professional copywriting experience within an ad agency, in-house, ecommerce, retail, or consumer-focused marketing environments.
- Significant experience supporting DTC brands, ecommerce businesses, or consumer marketing organizations.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating work across email campaigns, paid media, website content, social media, customer acquisition, retention, promotional campaigns, and brand storytelling.
- Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading, and storytelling skills with strong attention to detail.
- Experience writing across multiple channels including email, digital marketing, paid media, social platforms, website content, and print.
- Advanced experience using generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Jasper, or similar technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate, improve, and optimize AI-generated content through strong editorial judgment.
- Understanding of customer segmentation, lifecycle marketing, audience targeting, and performance-based messaging strategies.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with evolving priorities and deadlines.
