Description

We’re looking for superheroes to join our MarvelFlex team. MarvelFlex roles are Independent Contractor opportunities to consult on an ad-hoc, part-time, or short-term basis. The scope, budget, deliverables, and duration of MarvelFlex engagements differ from project to project.

We are seeking a Creative Technologist to join a Demos & Experiments team focused on bringing innovative technology experiences to life through physical and digital activations. This team creates engaging experiences that make technology tangible, human, and shareable. You will work on high-profile initiatives spanning live events, pre-recorded content, digital experiences, and experiential programs. This is an opportunity to apply production expertise to creative challenges at scale, collaborating with cross-functional teams to craft unique events and experiences that drive impact.

Role Description

As a Creative Technologist, you will push technical and creative boundaries while exploring how experiences and communication can be guided through code. You will work across machine learning applications, interactive interfaces, front-end development, visualizations, physical prototypes, native applications, and web-based products, including server-side implementation.

You will collaborate with designers, writers, filmmakers, programmers, and creative technologists while representing the technical perspective within the Demos & Experiments team. You will also foster relationships with external partners and coordinate internally with engineers and researchers.

Responsibilities

Key Objectives & Deliverables

• Lead the conceptualization and design of AI-powered experiences, developing new ideas and applications from prototype through launch using the latest research and emerging technologies.
• Create prototypes independently and in collaboration with a small team of technologists, engineers, designers, and producers while incorporating feedback from stakeholders to build ambitious demos and experiences.
• Serve as a technical leader in the production of Demos & Experiments projects, representing the voice of the user and advocating for best practices related to system architecture, privacy, security, and scalability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement machine learning models, integrate new technologies into projects, and experiment with a variety of APIs, platforms, and libraries.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Design, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of experience in software development, coding, or machine learning.
• Experience with multiple programming languages and technologies, including JavaScript, HTML5, C++, Python, Java, and Go.
• Experience designing architectures for AI applications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of UI/UX best practices.
• Familiarity with App Engine development.
• Interest in hardware hacking, tangible interfaces, and experimental user experiences.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong initiative and curiosity about emerging technologies, gadgets, inventions, and innovative solutions.
