Blue Engine (http://www.theblueengine.com), a creative communications agency, is seeking an pop culture-obsessed associate to join its growing consumer lifestyle public relations practice.

The creative communications arm of ICR (named the “fastest growing public relations firm” by O’Dwyers), Blue Engine embodies a fresh and energetic approach to brand strategy and storytelling. The agency offers a comprehensive suite of services across the consumer lifestyle space, including public relations, strategic partnerships, events + experiences, influencer + digital marketing, social media and more.

This highly-motivated associate will provide support for an exciting range of clients in the restaurants, food + beverage and hospitality categories, among others. A penchant for pop culture, savviness for societal happenings and an uncanny ability to forecast and foresee all-things famously trending, this individual will be entrusted with supporting account teams across a wide breadth of service needs, such as lifestyle media relations, event production and management, partnership activations and campaign execution.

Candidates who work, have worked in or have hands-on experience with clients in service sectors – hotels, retail, restaurants, et al – will be prioritized for consideration.

Responsibilities:

• General account support

• Compiling daily media monitoring and trend reports

• Conducting research to support campaign creation, spokesperson identification, event vendor selection, etc.

• Media relations activities, including maintaining knowledge and key understanding of and engagement with lifestyle publications

• Press release development and other writing responsibilities

• Maintain an understanding of clients’ businesses, industries and issues that directly and indirectly affect those clients

• Event support

Qualifications:

• Relevant agency experience (ideally 1 – 2 years), with strong working knowledge of evolving lifestyle media and pop culture landscapes (a true afficionado)

• Strong writing ability

• Organizational and people skills

• Event planning and production experience

• Ability to handle multiple assignments and manage time in an organized manner while ensuring deadlines are not just met, but exceeded

• A proven understanding of and affinity for digital tools and media platforms

• A can-do attitude

• Fluency in Microsoft Office Suite, Cision and Muck Rack (or related PR software)

• B.S/B.A required; concentration in public relations, marketing, journalism, communications or related field preferred
