We are conducting a confidential search for a highly accomplished Chief Investment Officer (CIO) to lead the investment strategy, portfolio management, and product development activities of a growing investment platform. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing a diversified multi-asset investment portfolio while driving the development and structuring of innovative investment products to support business growth and client objectives.
This is a senior leadership role requiring strong investment expertise, commercial acumen, and a proven track record across multiple asset classes and investment vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
Investment Leadership
- Develop and execute the organization's investment strategy across multiple asset classes, including public equities, fixed income, private equity, private credit, real estate, infrastructure, and alternative investments.
- Lead strategic asset allocation and portfolio construction decisions.
- Monitor portfolio performance, risk exposures, market trends, and economic developments.
- Present investment recommendations and portfolio updates to executive management, investment committees, and boards.
- Ensure investment activities align with regulatory requirements, governance frameworks, and risk appetite.
Product Structuring & Development
- Lead the design, structuring, launch, and ongoing management of investment products and investment vehicles.
- Develop innovative solutions tailored to institutional, family office, and high-net-worth investor requirements.
- Collaborate with legal, compliance, operations, finance, and distribution teams to bring products to market.
- Evaluate and establish appropriate fund structures, mandates, and investment frameworks.
- Support fundraising initiatives through product positioning and investor engagement.
Investment Origination & Execution
- Identify and evaluate investment opportunities across asset classes and geographies.
- Lead due diligence processes and investment recommendations.
- Oversee external managers, advisors, and strategic investment partners.
- Drive portfolio optimization and capital deployment decisions.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing investment team.
- Foster a strong investment culture focused on performance, discipline, and innovation.
- Maintain relationships with investors, regulators, financial institutions, and industry stakeholders.
- Act as a key spokesperson on investment matters internally and externally.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Master's degree (MBA, MSc Finance, Economics, or equivalent) preferred.
- CFA, CAIA, FRM, or other relevant professional qualifications highly desirable.
- Minimum 15 years of progressive investment management experience.
- Proven experience managing diversified multi-asset portfolios.
- Strong experience in investment product structuring, fund formation, and product development.
- Demonstrated track record across public and private market investments.
- Experience working with institutional investors, family offices, sovereign wealth funds, asset managers, or investment platforms.
- Strong understanding of investment risk management, portfolio construction, and capital markets.
- Experience serving on Investment Committees or similar governance bodies preferred.
