What You’ll Be Doing
Reporting to the Head of Electronics, this role is based in Banbury and plays a critical leadership role in delivering high-performance electronics systems across the car.
You’ll lead technical direction, support team development, and ensure the delivery of reliable, high-quality electronics solutions in a fast-paced Formula 1 environment.
Electronics Design & Technical Leadership
- Lead design and development of on-car and off-car electronics systems
- Define architectures covering ECU, sensors, actuators, power systems, and driver interfaces
- Oversee wiring loom design, integration, and best practice standards
- Drive reliability, performance, and compliance within FIA regulations
- Support hardware–software integration (SECU, embedded systems)
- Lead design reviews, validation, and system sign-off
- Deputise for the Head of Electronics when required
Team Leadership & Delivery
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing electronics team
- Support departmental strategy and continuous improvement initiatives
- Provide technical guidance and elevate team capability
- Manage day-to-day delivery, priorities, and performance standards
Collaboration & Integration
- Work closely with Chassis, PU suppliers, and cross-functional teams
- Ensure electronics are fully integrated into overall car design
- Support data quality, telemetry, and diagnostic capability
- Act as escalation point for complex technical challenges
What You’ll Bring
Essential
- Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or related field
- Significant experience in motorsport electronics (F1 or similar)
- Proven technical leadership in high-performance environments
- Strong understanding of vehicle electronics systems & integration
- Experience with data acquisition, telemetry, and control systems
Desirable
- Experience with simulation, HIL systems, or embedded software
