Key Accountabilities

  • Partner with the VP – People and business leaders across South China and Hong Kong to deliver strategic HR initiatives, enhance organizational effectiveness, manage workforce transitions, and drive business transformation programs.
  • Develop and implement local People strategies aligned with business objectives by assessing workforce requirements, identifying talent and capability gaps, and delivering practical HR solutions to enhance organizational effectiveness and growth.
  • Advise the leadership team on all aspects of HR policies, procedures, and people management practices in South China and Hong Kong, ensuring full compliance with statutory labor laws and company regulations.
  • Promote a continuous learning culture by sourcing and managing relevant in-house and external training programs designed to enhance staff competencies. Facilitate talent development, and succession planning to assist the leadership team in building organizational capabilities, culture, and high-performing teams.
  • Drive the performance management culture to ensure teams are aligned with business targets; support recruitment, selection, and promotion efforts while ensuring compliance with local labor laws and company policies.
  • Manage and motivate the local People team to deliver reliable HR services, keeping the wider Cluster People team updated on local progress.
  • You will be an ambassador for DP World internally and externally, ensuring a Safety and Sustainability culture in the business and lead Diversity and Inclusion policy, practice and initiatives within South China and Hong Kong

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

  • Degree or equivalent in Human Resources
  • A minimum of 12 years of a progressive career path in HR, of which 5 years are at a senior management level.
  • Experience working in complex multi-national organizations and logistics business preferred
  • Sound strategic HR knowledge, with deep expertise in employment laws across both Hong Kong and Mainland China.
  • Hands-on experience navigating merger and acquisition (M&A) environments and/or building HR infrastructure in startup setups.
  • Strong influencing skills, with the ability to use both direct and highly tailored communication approaches with senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent command of English and Putonghua alongside outstanding presentation and communication skills.
