About the Role:

To direct, lead and manage all Riyad Bank Zakat & Tax matters, planning and compliance activities, ensuring effective relationships with the Bank’s management and third parties.

Responsibilities:

  • Implements approved departmental policies, processes, procedures and provides instructions to subordinates and monitor their adherence.
  • Implements the day-to-day operations assigned for the department to ensure compliance with the established policies and procedures.
  • Supports in preparing, reviewing and monitoring of the annual operating budget and the annual financial budget of the different functions within the Bank.
  • Makes decisions on complex and technical tax matters, ensuring auditable documentation is maintained.
  • Monitors all critical details such as timely collection and analysis of data to ensure tax and Zakat calculations and documentations are carried out correctly.
  • Follows up regulatory changes on a regular basis to maintain full and correct information on tax and Zakat related legislations.
  • Reviews and manages staff deliverables including tax returns, extensions, and tax planning calculations.
  • Prepares and reviews complex tax planning projections for individual and corporate estimated tax liability.
  • Conducts complex tax research and prepares memorandum outlining findings and conclusions.
  • Responds and communicates with Zakat & Tax authority and clients in connection with audits, inquiries, and tax notices.
  • Delegates projects to staff that can handle them most efficiently and provides accounting and tax assistance to staff as needed.
  • Assists with business development efforts and provides internal tax advisory services and support to high management.
  • Ensures the accuracy of the tax figures and estimates included within planning, financial reporting, analysis and financial models.
  • Manages external/internal audit requirements ensuring relevant information is provided in order to complete the audit process on time.
  • Organizes and supervises the activities and work of a team of subordinates to ensure that all work is carried out efficiently.
  • Contributes to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices.
  • Participates in the implementation of SMART Stream latest versions and upgrades.
  • Reports Tax & Zakat Compliance requirements within the statutory deadline.
  • Ensures all staff have clear objectives, regular performance feedback sessions, and individual development plans.
  • Coordinates and facilitates the employment, training and development of Saudi nationals within the organization.
  • Complies with all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls.
  • Performs other related duties or assignments as directed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business with preferably a specialization in Finance or Accounting.
  • 6-8 years of relevant experience in banking including at least 2 years in positions of progressively increasing managerial responsibilities.
  • Language: English: Advanced.
