Role Description:

The Electrical Maintenance Technician will be primarily responsible for assisting the Facilities Management Maintenance Team across multiple Buildings for a commercial customer.

The role is based in the Sandyford/Leopardstown area.

Workings hours are a 39-hour week rostered between 7am and 6pm Mon-Fri

Key Accountabilities:

  • To carry out planned, preventative maintenance on a range of equipment including but not limited to Emergency Lighting, Distribution Boards, PAT testing, Lighting controls systems
  • Troubleshoot issues as they arise on site and escalate to the relevant department / manager if repair cannot be completed.
  • Proactively identify and remedy equipment maintenance issues to ensure equipment uptime is maximized
  • Review and engage with the client CAFM system and update proactively to complete and close out tasks (full training on system will be provided)
  • Assist subcontractors as required
  • Assist with any queries regarding quotations and purchasing
  • Engage and utilise the CAFM (Computer Aided Facility Management) software system and maintain the necessary records, ensuring they are accurate and up to date (full training will be provided)
  • Source spare parts and where applicable supplier costs as required to ensure systems are maintained in working order.
  • Comply with Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality legislative requirements
  • Contribute to and achieve Safety, Quality, Compliance and Continuous Improvement targets
  • Undertake ad-hoc projects and repairs on occasion as required
  • Ensure any training deemed necessary by your line manager is completed in a timely manner and be open to CPD requirements.
  • Must be prepared to take on and become familiar with all relevant site systems as needed to perform the job in a safe and efficient manner
  • Be flexible in your approach to allow for and adapt to the evolving needs of the site, client and company.
  • Act as a brand ambassador and present themselves in a neat and tidy manner.
  • Wear and keep issued uniforms in an appropriate manner for an office environment.
  • Maintain Company assets such as tools and plant in safe working order and report defects to supervisor.
  • Willing to undertake nonelectrical tasks when needed to support colleagues toward the end of achieving team goals.
  • Maintain and use appropriately PPE issued and report defects or additional PPE requirements to supervisor.
  • Any other duties as deemed necessary for the efficiency of the business

Qualifications, Experience & Knowledge:

Required

  • Qualified Electrician
  • At least 5 years' Maintenance experience in a similar position and environment

The following would be an advantage

  • SOLAS Safe Pass
  • Qualified Certifier (QC) or C&G verification cert
  • Health & Safety qualifications such as IOSH or evidence of H&S training
  • FETAC Level 6- Emergency Lighting commissioner's certificate
  • RGII Registered or qualified
  • QQI FGAS certificate(s)
  • C&G Portable Appliance Tester Certificate
  • HV/MV experience or qualifications such as C&G HV AP Certificate
  • ECDL or other Basic IT qualifications such as Microsoft Certs.
  • Additional Engineering qualifications such as QQI Level 6, 7,8 or 9 in an engineering discipline. (Note non-Irish Qualifications which are covered by the Bologna framework will be accepted in lieu of a QQI approved Qualification)
  • Relevant non-Engineering or H&S based qualifications (recognised by QQI) or evidence of experience
  • Full Clean Driving Licence, as travel to other sites within the contract may be required
