Job Summary:
The Procurement Analyst is responsible for managing sourcing activities, vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and purchase order processing. This role ensures cost-effective procurement while maintaining quality, compliance, and timely delivery to meet business requirements. The position also supports strategic sourcing initiatives and contributes to achieving cost savings and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Sourcing
- Apply effective purchasing strategies to secure the best value for goods and services
- Conduct market research to identify regional and global suppliers
- Maintain an active and qualified supplier database
- Provide market data including pricing trends and supplier recommendations
Vendor Management & Negotiation
- Lead vendor negotiations to achieve optimal pricing, terms, and cost savings
- Ensure all suppliers are accredited, compliant, and qualified
- Manage supplier relationships and resolve vendor-related issues
- Handle warranty, maintenance, and service concerns with vendors
Contract & Purchase Order Management
- Prepare, review, and facilitate approval of contracts and agreements
- Process purchase orders for approved requisitions, including complex projects
- Ensure completeness of requisition documents (budget, approvals, technical requirements)
- Monitor requisitions, deliveries, and vendor payment requests
Financial Analysis & Reporting
- Evaluate proposals using ROI, Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), and cost-benefit analysis
- Provide recommendations based on value-for-money assessments
- Generate reports on procurement activities, supplier performance, and market trends
Stakeholder Coordination
- Collaborate with internal departments (Operations, Finance, HR, IT, etc.) on procurement needs
- Act as liaison between internal stakeholders and external vendors
- Support procurement processes such as bidding, negotiations, and contract management
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in any 4- or 5-year course (preferably IT or business-related)
- At least 3 years of experience in procurement management
- Strong knowledge of procurement methodologies, contract management, and strategic sourcing
- Proficiency in MS Office and SAP
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
