Role Description This is a full-time, hybrid Chief Engineer role based in Tbilisi, with the possibility of performing some tasks from home. The Chief Engineer will oversee the operation, maintenance, and reliability of all engineering systems and infrastructure across the clinic, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, medical gases, and related building systems. This role includes planning and coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance, managing service contracts and external vendors, and ensuring minimal downtime of critical clinical equipment and facilities. The Chief Engineer will monitor system performance, respond to emergencies, diagnose technical issues, and implement solutions that meet safety, regulatory, and healthcare-specific standards. Day-to-day responsibilities also include managing and mentoring the engineering and technical staff, planning budgets for repairs and upgrades, supporting new construction and renovation projects, and collaborating closely with clinical, administrative, and health and safety teams to ensure a safe, efficient environment for patients and employees.

Qualifications

  • Strong background in building engineering systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, medical gases, and related infrastructure in complex facilities (healthcare experience is a plus).
  • Proven experience in maintenance planning, preventive and corrective maintenance, reliability improvement, and asset lifecycle management for critical systems.
  • Demonstrated skills in team leadership, staff supervision, workload planning, and cross-functional collaboration with clinical and administrative departments.
  • Knowledge of safety, regulatory, and compliance standards relevant to healthcare facilities, including building codes, fire safety, and occupational health requirements.
  • Experience in project management for construction, renovation, and equipment installation, including coordination with contractors, vendors, and consultants.
  • Ability to prepare and manage technical budgets, monitor costs, and support procurement of equipment, materials, and engineering services.
  • Proficiency in using engineering management tools, building management systems (BMS), and basic office software for reporting and documentation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Industrial Engineering (or a closely related technical field); advanced certifications in
