Then you might be our new Health, Safety & Environmental Manager at C&D Foods (Denmark) A/S! We are looking for a proactive Health, Safety & Environmental who can strengthen our HSE efforts and drive a strong safety culture, with a focus on compliance, continuous improvement, and employee wellbeing.

About The Position

As Health, Safety & Environmental Manager, you will lead the HSE function at our site in Esbjerg, where two colleagues are already part of the team. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining a safe and legally compliant working environment in accordance with Danish legislation and EU directives.

You will also play a key role in setting the direction for the HSE area and creating value for both people and processes across the site.

Your key areas of responsibility:

  • HSE Leadership & Culture
  • Compliance & Regulatory Management
  • Risk, Audit & Continuous Improvement

Examples of tasks could include:

  • Lead and coordinate the Working Environment Organisation (AMO) in line with Danish legislation
  • Ensure full compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations, including audits and inspections
  • Develop and continuously improve the HSE Management System aligned with ISO standards, among others.
  • Conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and ensure corrective actions are implemented
  • Maintain accurate documentation such as SOPs, emergency plans, and safety procedures
  • Coordinate HSE training, inductions, and toolbox talks across the site
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external authorities, auditors, and service providers
  • Support organisational changes, new equipment implementation, and process improvements through structured risk and environmental assessments

Candidate profile

  • Relevant Health & Safety qualification, e.g. NEBOSH certification, environmental management, or equivalent (diploma level is an advantage)
  • Proven experience in a HSE leadership role within manufacturing, FMCG, or similar environment
  • Strong knowledge of Danish Working Environment legislation, EU HSE requirements, and audit processes
  • Experience with ISO 45001 or similar management systems
  • Ability to deliver training and engage employees
  • Professional proficiency in Danish and English, both written and verbal
