Position Title: Operations Executive Ocean Freight Export

Jobe Location: Karachi, Pakistan

What will you do?

Position holder will be responsible to build and maintain strong relationships with sea carriers, able to negotiate competitive rates with the carriers. Maintain close relationship with key customers, addressing their concerns, resolving issues and ensuring their satisfaction. Continuously assess customer needs, market trends and competitors to enhance service offerings and maintain a competitive edge.

  • Proactive team member of operations department
  • Manage file creation and all services associated with sea freight product.
  • Manage documentation in order to ensure proper execution of jobs.
  • Assist customers & sales team in day-2-day requests related to export/import inquires.
  • Assist with account start-up. Liaison with sales to ensure required documentation/information needed for the SOP are provided.
  • Liaise with DPW Logistics Network in order to guarantee the best possible service assistance.
  • Maintain strong relationship with the sea carriers.
  • Liaise with sea carriers in order to procure the best possible solutions (capacity and cost)
  • Provide clients with complete update of the shipments in order to ensure proper flow in information is guaranteed.
  • Act quickly upon possible emergency situations that may arise within the life of any shipment.
  • Identify and improve operations related issues in a station, including on-time delivery, accurate and timely data entry, and efficient operations.
  • Follow the company policies and procedures
  • Maintain the security of freight in accordance with security procedures

What you bring (Skill, Qualification & Experience)

  • Communication (Oral & Written) - Can speak and write fluent English - additional languages are a bonus, but not a must.
  • Solid & demonstrated working knowledge of the Freight Forwarding Industry.
  • Strong negotiable skills.
  • Ability to drive strong execution of initiatives, ensuring that the Customers and Network. offices get things right the first time through questioning, analyzing, planning and follow-up.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks to meet various deadlines.
  • Intermediate computer skills with a proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint).
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate with Clients, Carriers, Network Offices.
  • Graduate in any field.
  • PIFFA diploma would be recommended.
  • Freight Forwarding experience is mandatory.
  • At least 3-4 years of relevant and recent experience in Ocean Freight Forwarding Operations and Customer Service.
