Role Description This is a part-time, on-site Network Technician role based in Pensacola, FL. The Network Technician will install, configure, and maintain network infrastructure components, including switches, routers, wireless access points, and cabling. The role involves monitoring network performance, identifying issues, and performing routine diagnostics to maintain uptime and reliability. The Network Technician will provide hands-on technical support to resolve connectivity problems, escalate complex issues when necessary, and document configurations, incidents, and resolutions. The role also includes assisting with basic network security tasks, supporting change implementations, and collaborating with engineering and operations teams to ensure stable and secure network services.

Qualifications

  • Strong skills in Network Administration and Network Infrastructure to support installation, configuration, and maintenance of network devices and cabling.
  • Proficiency in Troubleshooting and Technical Support to diagnose, resolve, and document network incidents in a timely manner.
  • Foundational knowledge of Network Security practices to help maintain secure, compliant, and resilient network environments.
  • Familiarity with routing and switching concepts, IP addressing, VLANs, and wireless networks; experience with common network monitoring tools is beneficial.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CCNA or equivalent experience) and experience in telecommunications or service provider environments are preferred.
  • Ability to work on-site, handle physical tasks such as racking equipment and running cables, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and time-management skills, with a commitment to safety and adherence to company processes and standards.
