Salary: £32,061 - £33,699 Grade: D13

Location: East Midlands

Directorate: Strategy and Inclusive Growth

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Reports to: Head of Employability and Health

About the Role

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Project Support Officer to join our Skills and Employment Directorate. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting the delivery of employment, skills, and health programmes that make a real difference to people, businesses, and communities across the region.

You will provide high-quality project, data, and administrative support across a range of programmes, helping ensure that provider claims, performance reporting, governance processes, and compliance activities are delivered accurately and efficiently. Working closely with colleagues, providers, and partners, you will help maintain robust systems and processes that support effective programme delivery and ensure we remain audit-ready at all times.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, is comfortable handling data and claims-related activities, and can confidently manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Supporting the day-to-day delivery of Skills and Employment programmes through effective project and programme administration.
  • Processing and reviewing provider claims, maintaining accurate records and supporting compliance with programme and funding requirements.
  • Managing and analysing data using Excel and CRM systems, producing reports and insights for senior leaders and partners.
  • Maintaining action logs, risk registers, programme documentation, and governance records.
  • Supporting contract management activities, including variations, performance monitoring, financial tracking, and compliance reporting.
  • Developing and maintaining clear process documentation, guidance notes, templates, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Coordinating meetings, workshops, events, agendas, and minutes.
  • Building effective relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders to support successful programme delivery.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • A proactive approach, taking ownership of tasks and identifying solutions before issues arise.
  • Experience supporting projects, programmes, contracts, or service delivery activities.
  • Confidence working with data, including analysing information, validating records and producing reports.
  • Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, filtering, formulas, and managing large datasets.
  • Experience supporting claims processing, compliance activities, financial monitoring, or audit requirements.
  • Experience creating and maintaining process documentation, guidance materials, or standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly across a variety of tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Experience building positive relationships with colleagues, providers, and stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Level 3 qualification or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office applications and web-based systems.
