Description

About Prenuply

Prenuply is a Toronto-founded legal technology company making prenuptial, marriage contract, and cohabitation agreement templates more accessible for Canadian couples.

Our platform helps couples answer simple questions, generate a personalized province-specific agreement template, and take that draft to independent legal counsel for review before signing. We are not trying to remove lawyers from the process. We are trying to make the process faster, clearer, more affordable, and better organized before couples walk into a lawyer’s office.

Traditional family law documents can cost thousands of dollars and take weeks. Prenuply gives couples a stronger starting point in minutes.

Now we are looking for a licensed Canadian lawyer to join as a Legal Co-Founder and help shape the legal foundation of the company.

The Role

I am looking for a legal counterpart.

As Prenuply’s founder, I bring the product, technology, and startup execution side. I am looking for a licensed lawyer who can bring legal judgment, family law insight, and a deep curiosity about how AI can responsibly transform access to legal documents in Canada.

This is a part-time role to start, with the expectation that it can grow into a full-time co-founder position as the company grows. You will receive meaningful equity and help shape the company from the ground up.

What You’ll Work On

  • Help build legally grounded end-to-end contract workflows for Canadian couples
  • Review and improve Prenuply’s agreement templates, legal logic, province-specific clauses, and customer flows
  • Help define what Prenuply can and cannot do as a legal technology company
  • Work with AI-generated outputs to improve quality, accuracy, and usefulness
  • Help develop standards for legal review, disclosure, independent legal advice, and execution requirements across provinces
  • Support expansion beyond prenups into related family law agreements
  • Contribute to customer education, legal content, and product strategy
  • Help us build a company that is ambitious, responsible, and grounded in real law

Who You Are

  • Licensed and in good standing as a lawyer in Canada
  • Family law experience is preferred, but not required
  • Toronto-based or GTA-based is preferred
  • Any level of experience is welcome if you are sharp, hungry, and serious about building
  • Curious about legal tech, AI, access to justice, and new ways of delivering legal services
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, early-stage startup chaos, and figuring things out as we go
  • Practical, thoughtful, and able to balance legal rigor with product speed
  • Excited by the idea of being a founder, not just an advisor

What Makes This Different

This is not a traditional legal job.

This is an equity-based co-founder opportunity for someone who wants ownership, upside, and a real seat at the table.

You should be interested in helping build the future of family law in Canada. The right person is someone who sees that the current system is too slow, too expensive, and too intimidating for many couples, and wants to help build something better.

You Might Be a Fit If

  • You are a lawyer who has thought, “there has to be a better way”
  • You want to break into tech but do not want to sit on the sidelines
  • You are excited by AI but care deeply about legal responsibility
  • You want to help couples protect their futures without unnecessary complexity
  • You are comfortable starting part-time and growing with the company
